“Pursuant to section 300.624(a) of 34 CFR of the Federal Regulations 20, the Mechanicville City School District is destroying all records of students who received Special Education services with birth dates between 1970 and 1997. School districts & BOCES are required to keep Special Education records for 6 years after a student reaches age 21 (age 27.) Students falling within this timeframe who wish to obtain their records that may be on file in the Special Education Department, must contact Beth Bornt prior to December 1, 2024 at spedrecords@mechanicville.org. Records not claimed by this date will be removed from the files and destroyed.
*Please note that not all records may be available for former students. We will assist you in obtaining records if we are able to do so. However, it is not guaranteed that we still have Special Education records for those over age 27.*
A huge thank you to our HS Counselors, Mrs. LaFleche and Ms. Dugan for putting this together. We are looking to expand our list for the Spring College Caravan!
