China Study Link Project Visits Mechanicville Elementary

On Thursday, January 20, the Elementary School was proud to welcome Kevin & Amy Ferrone, along with several others to visit our school and meet with our K-5 students. Kevin Ferrone, a former MHS Graduate, is currently living and teaching in Beijing, China. Through Kevin's efforts, we have set up a China Study Link that connects Mechanicville students with students from Beijing, China. It is our hope to expand the program to an exchange program where students from Beijing and Mechanicville will visit each others' country. This summer (August 2010), we are hopeful to host 10-20 Chinese students. The details are still being worked out. Please call me at 664-7336 if you are interested in participating in this program hosting a Chinese student for a few weeks this summer.
