MS/HS Media Center

The Mechanicville Middle/High School library media center serves approximately 700 students in grades six through twelve. The brand new library opened during the 2002-2003 school year, and is a warm, comfortable, inviting space for students, faculty, and staff to conduct quiet research and study.

Print resources include non-fiction and reference materials directly supporting the curricula of the school, as well as current and exciting fiction books for the students' leisure reading. Periodicals are also available for scholarly and leisure reading.

Non-print resources include videocassettes, DVDs, computers with Internet access, subscription reference databases, word processing, and Online Public Access Catalogs (OPAC).

The media center is open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.  Mrs. Jamie Tobin, library media specialist, assists students individually with research and book selection, and instructs whole classes in library use and reference skills to ensure student success as information users and lifelong learners. Mrs. Marie Phelan is the library assistant.

Remember :
Students with overdues cannot borrow any new materials.
Reference materials and magazines do not circulate.
Library computers are used for school needs only.
